Severn Bridge Tolls: pay by card "one step closer"

The campaign to get cards accepted to pay the Severn Bridges tolls took a step closer as it was announced that changes were being made to legislation that governs the Severn crossings.

Welsh Lib Dem Assembly Member Will Fight for Isle of Man Residents to keep NHS Cover in Wales

Mr. German, a leading Liberal Democrat member of the National Assembly for Wales, said that The Welsh Government had introduced legislation to exclude the Channel Islands from the 'Common Health Service Agreement' which covers all residents in the different parts of the United Kingdom (inside and outside of the EU) for NHS services. The legislation came into force in January.

Assembly Member says: "Get empty homes back into use and save the taxpayers some money"

A local Assembly Member has suggested to the Welsh Assembly Government that more can be done to get empty homes back into use. Welsh Liberal Democrat Michael German made his proposed incentive for property owners during a debate in the National Assembly this afternoon.

Tories Vote Against Giving Assembly Powers to Lower Council Tax for Service Personnel

The decision by the Conservatives to oppose drawing down more powers on sustainable housing will also prevent the Welsh Government from introducing legislation to give serving members of the armed forces a 50% reduction in their Council Tax as currently happens in England, said Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly member Michael German.

Micro green energy at home: Feed-in tariffs awareness plan not fit for purpose

Welsh Liberal Democrat spokesperson on the Environment and Sustainability, Mike German AM, welcomes the introduction of Feed in Tariffs (FiT) but says the scheme should have been adopted far sooner and the Welsh Government must give a bigger push to raise awareness of the support available, if individuals and businesses across Wales are to be encouraged to install renewable energy systems at home or at work.

NHS A&E Waiting Times Get Worse Despite Lower Numbers of People Seen

Waiting times for patients at a major Accident and Emergency Department got worse during January, despite the local NHS seeing less people turning up for treatment - continuing a downward trend for the past four months.

Welsh Liberal Democrats call for empty home renovation grants

Michael German, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for South East Wales, has back calls for the Welsh Assembly Government to follow the example set by the English Government and to support Liberal Democrat policies of providing grants to owners of empty properties so as to bring them back into use.
