Campaigning for WalesThere are many issues that I take up, as a result of constituents' concern, and more that I, and local Liberal Democrat councillors, work together on. Learn more about some of these campaigns and how you can get involved below. No Toll Increase 2010
Campaign to stop the annual increase in tolls on both Severn crossings into Wales scheduled for January 2010. Each year the tolls on both Severn crossings are increased in line with inflation for the New Year. However, the UK Government Secretary of State for Transport decide, with the agreement of the bridge operators, not to implement in "whole or in part" the annual increase in tolls. This year the tolls were not increased on the Humber bridge, the Humber Bridge Board wanted to raise the toll by 20p for cars. They were refused permission by the Secretary of State in July. No Bridge Toll Rise for 18 Months (Humber Bridge) - BBC . Following a series of meetings with the bridge borard, Mr. Sadiq Khan, the UK Transport Minister said: "The government is committed to doing everything it can to protect communitites and businesses from economic downturn, and help the country recover. That is why I recently decided not to accept the Humber bridge board's proposed toll increase." So, logic would say "What's good for Yorkshire and the Humber is good for South Wales". NO TOLL INCREASES for 2010!

Axe the TaxThe Liberal Democrats have called on the Labour Assembly Government to scrap Council Tax re-banding, and also on the Government to scrap council tax entirely and replace it with a fair system based on ability to pay.
Across Wales, thousands of households have been affected by Council Tax rebanding, and many of the poorest in our communities would benefit from the replacement of Council Tax. Tackling Obesity
